We schedule almost all of our sessions during the golden hour window — roughly the 60 to 90 minutes before sunset — when the light is warm and diffused, temperatures drop a degree or two, and the sky over the Atlantic and Intracoastal turns shades that no filter can replicate. That timing also sidesteps the intense midday sun that can be unflattering and physically uncomfortable for couples dressed in engagement attire. Fall and winter in West Palm Beach are ideal for engagement sessions. From October through April, humidity is lower, afternoon thunderstorms are rare, and the light has a softer quality than the intense summer sun. If you have a specific vision that requires a third location or extended shooting time, we can discuss extended session options when you reach out.
The best location is one that reflects who you are as a couple rather than simply the most photographed spot in the city. That said, some of our favorite West Palm Beach locations include the Intracoastal waterfront along Flagler Drive, the tropical gardens at Mounts Botanical Garden, the architecturally rich streets of the Flamingo Park and El Cid neighborhoods, and the walkable blocks around Clematis Street downtown. We provide location scouting guidance with every session, so if you share a little about your style and story, we can recommend the spots most likely to produce images you'll love.
West Palm Beach has a distinct aesthetic — relaxed but polished, tropical but sophisticated — and your wardrobe can lean into that in a really beautiful way. Flowy dresses and linen shirts tend to move well and photograph naturally in the outdoor settings we typically use here.
