Client Portal Glossary
Plain definitions of the terms you meet in your Candid Studios client portal, from the questionnaire to the release and the guest camera.
Quick Answer
This glossary defines the terms you meet in your Candid Studios client portal, such as the Pre-Production Questionnaire, Read-Only Mode, the Photography & Videography Release, RAW photos, Guest Camera, Proof of insurance and Additional insured.
- Glossary of portal terms
These are the terms you will see in your Candid Studios client portal, grouped by when you meet them. Each definition uses the portal's own wording.
Planning Terms
- Your Journey
The tracker on your Home page. It shows the stages Booked, Planning, Your day, Creating your story and Ready for you. See What To Expect After You Book With Candid Studios.
- Next Step
The highlighted item on your Home page that points you to what to do next. For example, the portal says to use it, or open Event and choose Complete your questionnaire.
- Pre-Production Questionnaire
The form you complete to share your vision, timeline, family photos, editing preferences and more. It covers timeline, vendors, songs and must-have shots. Save anytime and finish before your day. See How To Complete Your Pre-Production Questionnaire.
- Read-Only Mode
What you see after the questionnaire has been submitted. It is locked: you can view your responses but cannot make changes. Contact your photographer if something needs updating.
- Your Team
The section of your Home page that lists the people on your event, such as your photographer and videographer, each with a Message button. They appear once they are assigned.
- Project Thread
Your message thread with the Candid Studios team, found in the Messages tab on your event page. A message to a team member goes into your project thread and they get a studio notification. See How To Message The Candid Studios Team.
Payment And Document Terms
- Payment Schedule
The list of your payments and invoices. You can expand it on Home or open Documents for the full details. Amounts are calculated from your invoices.
- Paid To Date And Balance Due
Figures in the money summary on your Home page, next to your Agreement status. They show what you have paid and what remains. When everything is paid, Balance Due shows Paid in full. See How To See What You Owe And Pay Your Balance.
- Proof Of Insurance
A certificate in Documents, under For your venue. Share it with your venue when they request vendor liability insurance. Most venues only need this file. You can download the PDF or copy a link to forward. See How To Get Proof Of Insurance For Your Venue.
- Additional Insured
A request some venues make. If your venue needs to be listed as an additional insured, or asks for special wording, message Candid with the venue's exact legal name and contact email, and we will issue a custom certificate.
Event Day Terms
- Guest Camera
A way for your guests to share photos and short videos. Guests scan the QR and snap photos and short videos. Everything lands in your private guest album, separate from your professional gallery. You choose when to reveal it. See How To Use The Guest Camera At Your Event.
- Photo Challenges
Ideas you give guests to choose from. Their photos stay grouped by challenge for you to review. You can pick presets, such as Catch the Couple or Dance Floor Energy, or write a custom idea.
- Guest Camera Album
Where all guest submissions are collected. You can filter by All, Favorites, Approved, Hidden, photos or videos, and by challenge. Choose Reveal album to guests when you are ready to share it.
Delivery Terms
- Photography & Videography Release
The release you sign to download full-resolution photos and access the film. The portal also calls it the media release, and says signing takes about a minute. See How Photo And Film Delivery Works.
- Watermarked Preview
The version of your photos you see before the release is signed. The portal says: "You're viewing watermarked photo previews." The gallery site also notes that photos are watermarked until approved.
- RAW Photos
A row on the Galleries page, next to Photo gallery and Film / video. It says "Download files" and has a Download button for your RAW files.
- Download All
A button in the gallery toolbar that saves every photo. You can also download a single photo from its own download button. See How To View And Download Your Photos.
- Timestamped Comments
Notes you leave while reviewing your film. Pause the video and add a comment, and it is saved at that timestamp. View Activity shows the history.
- Request Revision
A button on the film review page, next to Approve. Choose it if you want changes, after leaving your timestamped comments. See How To Watch Your Film And Leave Feedback.
