Jacksonville Engagement Photography

Engagement sessions with Candid Studios are about more than getting a photo for your save-the-dates — they're a chance to work with your photography before the wedding day so everyone feels comfortable and confident when it counts. Since 2016, we've shot engagement sessions in locations across Colorado's Rocky Mountain trails, Florida beaches, downtown Chicago streets, New York City parks, and everywhere in between. Sessions typically run 60-90 minutes and include wardrobe guidance, location scouting assistance, and a gallery of 50-80 professionally edited images delivered within two weeks. We shoot during golden hour whenever possible, using natural light and minimal equipment so the session feels relaxed, not staged. Every engagement package includes a print release and digital downloads sized for social media, print, and your wedding website. Many of our couples use these sessions to test different styles — candid documentary, editorial posed, or a mix — so we can dial in exactly the right approach for wedding day coverage.

What Jacksonville Clients Say

Our engagement photos are magazine-worthy! The photography found the most incredible golden hour light and helped us look natural even though we're usually awkward in photos.
Lauren & Mike H.
Denver, CO
We used our engagement photos for save-the-dates, our wedding website, and a guest book. Every image was beautiful. The session itself was so fun—it felt like a date, not a photo shoot.

The photography made us feel so comfortable and captured our personalities perfectly. These photos are exactly us—natural, fun, and full of love. Our families are obsessed with them.

Jacksonville Engagement Photography FAQ

  • Most engagement sessions run 60-90 minutes, which gives us enough time to explore 2-3 locations, change outfits if desired, and capture a variety of poses and candid moments. You'll feel relaxed and natural by the end of the session.

  • We'll help you choose the perfect location based on your style. Popular options include urban downtown areas, parks and gardens, mountain overlooks, or locations meaningful to your relationship. We know the best spots in every city we serve and can suggest hidden gems.

  • We recommend 1-2 outfits: one dressy and one casual. Solid colors and complementary (not matching) outfits photograph best. Avoid busy patterns, large logos, and neon colors. We send a detailed style guide with specific recommendations after booking.

  • Absolutely! Pets are family, and we love including them. We recommend having a friend or family member come along to wrangle your pet during outfit changes or couple-only shots. Some of our favorite engagement photos include furry family members.

  • You'll receive 50-80 professionally edited images from a standard session. Each photo is individually color-corrected and enhanced. The images come in both high-resolution for printing and web-optimized sizes for social media.

  • Yes! Your engagement photos include a full print release, so you can use them for save-the-dates, wedding websites, guest books, ceremony signage, and social media. Many couples also display them at their reception.

  • Golden hour (1-2 hours before sunset) produces the most flattering light year-round. Spring and fall offer the best combination of comfortable weather and beautiful scenery. However, every season has its charm—even snowy winter sessions are gorgeous.

  • We recommend booking 3-6 months before your wedding. This gives you plenty of time to receive edited photos for save-the-dates and wedding stationery. Weekend golden hour slots fill up quickly, especially in spring and fall.

  • If rain is forecasted, we'll reschedule at no extra charge to a date that works for everyone. However, light drizzle or overcast skies often create the most beautiful, evenly lit photos. We'll make the call together based on conditions.

  • Yes! Indoor options include museums, libraries, cafes, your home, or studio sessions. Indoor locations work great for inclement weather or couples who prefer a more intimate setting. We bring professional lighting to ensure beautiful results.
