Shooting a wedding on the beach is its own discipline, and Candid Studios has been doing it across the country since 2016. The coastline gives you golden light and an open horizon, but it also brings harsh midday sun, shifting tides, wind, and salt air. We plan around all of it. Where the schedule allows, we steer key portraits toward golden hour and sunset, when the light is soft and flattering rather than squinting and harsh. Our gear is protected against sand, wind, and salt, and we carry full backups so the elements never put your photos at risk. Ahead of the day we check tide charts, confirm any permits the location requires, and build a weather backup plan in case conditions turn. A coordinated photography and videography team captures both stills and film, with pricing quoted transparently upfront.

Golden hour, the stretch shortly after sunrise or before sunset, is ideal for beach weddings. The light is soft, warm, and flattering, and the harsh shadows of midday are gone. When your ceremony time is fixed, we plan portrait sessions around the best available light and use professional lighting to keep midday coverage looking clean.
Midday beach light is bright and contrasty, so we manage it deliberately. We position couples relative to the sun, use diffusers and off-camera lighting to soften shadows, and where possible schedule the key portraits for golden hour. The goal is even, flattering exposure with an open sky behind you rather than blown-out highlights or squinting.
Many public beaches and parks require a permit for wedding ceremonies or professional photography, and the rules vary by location. We are used to this and will help you confirm what your specific beach requires ahead of time, so nothing interrupts the day. The permit itself is usually arranged through the venue or the local authority.
Coastal conditions are tough on equipment, so we come prepared. We use weather-resistant bodies and lenses, protective covers, and careful handling to keep sand and salt out, and we carry full backup gear on every shoot. That redundancy means a single equipment issue in a windy, salty environment never puts your coverage at risk.
