What 820 couples asked for when they inquired about wedding photography and video: hours of coverage, day of the week, season and how far ahead.

Key Findings
- The most requested amount of wedding photography is 6 hours. The median request is also 6 hours.
- 40% of couples asked for 4 hours of photography or less. Only 25% asked for 8 hours or more.
- 51% of couples who named a service wanted photography and video together.
- 51% of wedding dates fall on a Saturday. Friday and Sunday take 17% each, and Monday to Thursday 15%.
- Florida and Colorado have opposite seasons: Florida dates peak in November, Colorado dates in June and September.
- The median couple inquired 198 days before the wedding, about six and a half months.
How Many Hours Of Wedding Photography Do Couples Ask For?
Six hours is both the most common request and the median. Short coverage is more common than the usual advice suggests: two in five couples asked for 4 hours or less.

When Is Wedding Season In Florida And Colorado?
The two states run on opposite calendars. Florida dates are spread across the year with a November peak and a late-summer low. More than four in five Colorado dates fall between May and October.

How Far Ahead Do Couples Contact A Wedding Photographer?
The median couple wrote 198 days before the wedding. A quarter wrote 310 days or more ahead, and 26% wrote with less than 90 days to go. This figure uses a smaller group, the 95 inquiries that carry an exact inquiry time.

- Source: wedding inquiries received by Candid Studios between March 2025 and October 2026, for wedding dates in 2025, 2026 and 2027. 820 inquiries in total.
- These are requests, not final bookings. They show what couples ask for at first contact.
- Most inquiries come from Florida, Colorado and Ohio, so this is not a national sample.
- Each table states how many inquiries it is based on, because not every inquiry includes every detail. Hours outside 1 to 12 were treated as entry errors and left out.
- Counts only. No couple, venue or price can be identified from this page.
