The High Line is a linear park through the west side. Enter at one access and work a few blocks, not the whole length. You are sharing a path. The picture is architecture and planting, not a private lawn. Late day is kinder than noon. Little Island is the nearby pier if you want water instead, and it is the replacement, not the second borough.

Bow Bridge is the south-end alternative when you want the lake and the bridge specifically. Pick one. A loop of the reservoir, the Mall, and Bethesda is a tour, not a session.
