The Antlers is a different animal from the other historic Colorado Springs hotel couples often ask us about, The Broadmoor. Where The Broadmoor is a 3,000-acre lakeside resort at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain, The Antlers is a downtown high-rise hotel on Cascade Avenue, a few blocks from restaurants, bars, and the rest of the city, so it books very differently: guests can walk to dinner the night before, and the wedding party isn't shuttling across a sprawling property to get from getting-ready rooms to the ceremony space.
What photographs best here is the skyline itself. Upper-floor rooms and several of the property's 17 event spaces look straight down Cascade Avenue toward Pikes Peak, and we build portrait time around catching that mountain in the frame, whether it's a window shot during getting-ready or a rooftop-adjacent portrait before the reception starts. The hotel's name and history run back more than a century in downtown Colorado Springs, so there's a sense of old-hotel character in the lobby and hallways that gives us texture for candids between the formal portrait blocks.
